Tougher EU climate target technically, economically feasible, researchers say

Economically feasible by bleeding Europeans white. Europe is between a newly dynamic North America (despite the pandemic its bouncing back) and an Asia going strong on coal. How will Europe compete with that while burdening its industries with heavy taxes and high energy prices plus very onerous regulation? It can’t – but why would politicians care? They just kick the can down the road a little more and leave this problem to a new generation as they have done for decades. The new sick man of the world is going to be Europe and it’s going to be a long disease.

A European Union plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions to 55% below 1990 levels by 2030 is technically and economically possible, researchers said on Monday.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
