Transshipment of LNG starts on harsh and windy Kola coast
Transshipment of LNG is not cheap. Especially if it’s done in the open without a terminal to go between. This goes on top of the price the LNG must fetch to break even. But if this cost element is something worth doing then this gives me an idea of how much more expensive those arctic class LNG carriers are as compared to a conventional ship. This is not cheap LNG as some have tried to convince us. But in today’s market, one takes what one gets.
