Trucking Liquefied Natural Gas Across 1,000 Kilometers Is A Hot New Business
I like pipelines. They are an outstanding way to transport large volumes of liquids and gases. BUT – they take some time to build. Once they are in the ground they cant be rerouted and when the gas is in its gaseous state it’s harder to store on site. LNG trucks and trains can be sent wherever as long as you pt tanks and receiving equipment there which is fast, painless, and can be done almost anywhere. And once it’s there you have it sitting in the tank on your premises. Great when you don’t trust the delivery system. All the advantages of diesel – none of its problems. LNG by rail will be especially interesting.
