Actually, there has never been a better time to do this than now. If there is any pain coming from this then (for a time at least) people will understand that this is a necessary pain. And a combination of cheap energy and automation might just make the US a better cost base. Cheap energy – yes I said it. Because eventually, prices will go up again and cheaper energy will become a USP again. Don’t take the current mess for a new normal. It’s not.
