Trump to Meet With Oil Executives
They want a bailout of course. There will be the obligatory calls for an entente with Russia and OPEC but what would that look like? It’s going to require all oil producers to pull on the same rope. And that’s not going to happen. the big boys have the reserves to survive this while at the same time the smaller rivals will face the chopping block. Why would they agree to something like this? But Trump has a wonder weapon. Not tariffs but a Border Adjustment Tax levied on all imports that do not conform to certain criteria he can set. That would allow him to beat China and OPEC at the same time and help US-based businesses onto their feet. The open-borders world many have dreamt of just a few months ago is over folks. Let’s start thinking of tools to shape the new world.
