No, only when Europe starts to use what it has it will attain energy security and economic stability. What do we have? We could exploit the North Sea better. There is still a lot where the original North Sea Oil & gas came from. We have multiple shale basins. my own country Austria could make better use of hydropower and use its shale potential. It’s maybe not as cheap as in the US but it would generate jobs and investment in Austria and give us safety from outside shocks. Oh yes, and nuclear would provide an inestimable buffer. I am all for trading oil and gas but safety comes from the stuff you have.
