Universal Education Caused Managerialism

Decades ago, when I was still a free-roaming young man, my thoughts revolved mostly around how to get in touch with women. I looked at various ways how to deal with the challenge and pretty soon had it down to a science. Women have triggers and those triggers can be used to your advantage. One mechanism is some form of investment theory. Once a person has the feeling of having invested in someone else, they will keep contact and you can proceed to make them chase you instead of you chasing them. It works. This is light-hearted young people’s stuff. But the same mechanism drives us our entire lives. We invest much in formal education so questioning it is very hard as we put a question mark on a huge investment. So you don’t. You are a cog because you want to be.
