Uptick in LNG demand in Asia, Europe insufficient to drive prices: Russell

Europe is not a natural driver for high prices as it can do things that Asians have problems with. For starters, Europe has deep underground gas storage in place which means that it can manage its own seasonal volatility which Asia can’t do. Given, the situation in Ukraine threw a wrench into European arrangements for a while but after the panic, things go back to a more normal tone very fast. Also, the European gas market is connected, integrated, and much bigger than Asias. Eventually, the players devise strategies to deal with volatility. Asia cannot manage its own demand cycles except through just-in-time delivery. This drives prices up. https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/column-uptick-in-lng-demand-in-asia-europe-insufficient-to-drive-prices:-russell?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email
