US LNG: Cooperative rather than swing producer
The current oversupply situation in LNG has its roots 15 years back when the US market that was supposed to be the biggest price ever for LNG exporters faltered as a result of the shale revolution. Successive amplification events like Fukushima and China have made the problem worse while we all thought that we are on a never-ending joyride. Every bubble has its end – COVID just made it worse. LNG is the future backbone of energy but it has some serious crap to clean up.
