US oil company ran 1977 article predicting climate crisis could cause starvation

I am impressed by EXXON. Just look how great they are. They knew things that the IPCC could not seem to prove already 50 years ago. That’s fabulous. Why haven’t they shared their evidence with the IPCC? That would help them a lot and instead of terrorizing the world with cooked-up consensus figures that fall apart like cookie crumble, they could finally present scientific evidence. Real proof that stands up to scrutiny. That would amplify their cause by I don’t know what factor. That said, maybe EXXON did not know but just threw out a series of “IFs”. In that case, they speculated and said so. Isn’t that what we all do? Big companies need to contemplate even unlikely ifs just to be sure their likelihood is very, very low. Can’t find that if you don’t throw it against the wall to see what sticks.
