US Returns to Being a Net Oil Exporter
When I joined the energy industry 15 years ago, it was a safe bet that the US oil and gas market would be an ever-growing importer of LNG with some of the highest prices for gas anywhere on the planet. Today, not only has this not become true but the US is the center of cheap oil and gas of this planet on a course to be a major global competitor for oil & gas buyers. This is the mother of all reversals and a potent reminder that liner projections of eternal growth are hogwash. If you put free people into a pressure cooker, you cannot blame them to figure out a way to get out of it.
