US states continue to lead on climate
That’s a good thing as this creates a diversity of actions and also a diversity of consequences. States with stupid policies will suffer in the long term and might even fail. And states with good policies will thrive. People will vote with their feet. Federal uniform action on such issues just creates a veil under which local politicians hide. They say that its on DC, not on them. Most policies that affect people in their daily lives should be decided as close as possible to them.
