Vitol Says Trading Russian Oil Will Become Harder from Mid-May
Some oil goes to China – but China does not need so much anymore. Some goes to India but India is pretty far away from Russian ports and there are very hard logistical bottlenecks to be overcome. Sanctions will start to really hurt and infrastructure constraints in Russia will force them to start shutting in wells in the best of circumstances. If there is careful planning and meticulous execution damage to the wells could be limited but this is iffy at best. Damage will likely be permanent. This may be the beginning of the end of Russian oil.
