Warning over electric scooter and bike batteries amid daily fires

I know I have been warning about the fire risk from lithium-ion batteries for more than a decade by now and so have many others much better qualified than I am to talk about it. Yet, nothing has rattled people as much as exploding pagers in Lebanon. They understand that there was an explosive in the pagers and that it was not the battery that caused the mayhem. But they also know that the batteries are a source of very realistic risk and suddenly, people want to sell their Teslas, they want to get rid of batteries buffering their solar panels production and they want distance between themselves and those scooters.
