We Have Become A Nation Of Book Burners

I am the oldest son of a tailor. We lived in the sticks, almost 2 hours by car from Vienna. Once a week, my father had to go to Vienna to bring in work done and get new orders, buy tissue and other tailor stuff, and often I was the one to go with him. We had plenty of discussions about politics, life, and money. It created the foundation of the libertarian I chose to be in my twenties. I distrusted most people but I believed in institutions and that people would eventually do what’s best for them. I still hold on to my libertarian streak (with some rounded edges I must confess) but my trust in rational people is totally gone. I know now how the Nazis came to power. The zombie apocalypse is upon us, they just look a lot more like normal people than we imagine.
