Website Problems

Now that Trump has won again, many in the realist community think that the work is done and we can relax now. I would argue just the opposite. Now, the other side knows that life is getting quite a bit harder for them which means we can expect quite a lot more nastiness. Trusting your web publication to the whims of an organization like WordPress that could become even more political or that will hamper you just out of an effort to be extra friendly to very unfriendly people is a recipe for massive problems. We must be better than this. I have become paranoid in my data security measures meaning that I keep backups of backups and I don’t trust any commercial software to the point of scripting my tools. Not comfy for sure but we can’t afford to be trusty fools.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
