Well-preserved fossils could be consequence of past global climate change
Most people I show a graph on temperature developments over the last 10K years are quick to point out that things had become a lot more volatile recently. Past developments occurred in wide swings and the more recent it gets, the more sudden things become. Then I explain to them that those wide swings are no evidence that the past was different but only due to a lack of granularity on the data side. Reliable temperature measurements are a pretty recent thing. Anything before in conjecture. The past was as sudden as the present is.
