This cost bubble will take time to sink in. Decades of prettied-up financial figures about Renewable Energy, Electric Vehicles, and hydrogen make even energy professionals dream of a garden of lollipops. Letting the reality about those energy forms sink in – and by that, I mean true costs – will be a process similar to what drug addicts must go through. There will be pain and it won’t only be pride that is squealing. Decades of being really dumb and doing the wrong thing have left deep marks on our infrastructure. We won’t fix this right on the day when the brain comes back.
