While the west watches a game show, the rest build a new world order

So the BRICS are a new world order? I beg to differ. It’s true that the combined developed world is in a deep rut right now and that Europe does not have the brightest prospects. Irresponsible energy choices and truly madhouse social politics do indeed make things a lot worse. But this is nothing compared to the woes of especially some of the BRICS nations. China is looking into an abyss. Russia is shattered, South Africa is ripping itself apart and Brazil is in a mother of all doldrums. India is the most interesting case of all of them. Let them do their grandstanding. When the developed world hits rock bottom, it will give us all a lesson in rising from the ashes.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
