Why Do Our Rulers Hate Us?

What do you have to do to make a career in a big organization such as politics, public administration, a big company, or other similar collections of people with a hierarchy? It would be best to internalize all the narratives as going against them is dangerous. You need to know the thoughts of your superiors before they know them and you need to kiss plenty of behinds for a long, long time. When you get there, when you have arrived at the top or near it, you have transformed into an elite zombie. Your capacity to think independently is gone and narratives dominate your life. And you have invested a lot to get there. Anyone criticizing anything you care about is your enemy. For politicians, that’s pretty much the entire electorate.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
