Why Is Venus So Hot?

When stationed between Syria and Israel in the 90s, I often came from the Golan Heights covered in snow in one hour down to the Mediterranean coast where we would enjoy a day on the beach. Even more extreme was the trip from the Golan Heights to the Dead Sea, about 400 meters below sea level. I am no scientist but I knew long ago that pressure produced temperature. Oh, those 3 panes windows were all the rage when we were kids. They had put CO2 in as a filling gas as it is non-combustible. Those windows should have been glowing hot when the Sun hit them. They were not. When the real world does not confirm your theory, it’s just wrong.
