Why lithium-ion may rule batteries for a long time to come
For years, no for more than a decade we have been fed the story that the Lithium-Ion battery is just a stopgap solution and that real bliss awaits us with new technologies. That was wishful thinking at best, a clean-cut lie at worst as we find out now. The Solid-state Battery is about as real as the Quantum Computer or nuclear fusion is. In the meantime, we are expected to funnel trillions into a battery design that clearly does not hold up to the requirements of a modern energy fabric for a nation.
