Why Models Can’t Predict Temperature: A History Of Failure
I have some history in programming. When I was a law school student I worked in an IT company as a translator to make ends meet. The company ran a couple of rather biggish websites and as programmers were constantly busy looking over my shoulder I picked up PHP and MYSQL. Soon enough I programmed my own tools. At the time getting server time was hard so sometimes I went blind (no testing against reality) for a full day. The result was always very buggy. You cant imagine reality in a model – it will always find a way to throw you off a cliff.
