Why one Tesla manager thinks used cars are ‘absolutely pivotal’ for EVs

A used EV you say? Considering that the battery is the single most expensive item in such a car and you never know what state the battery really is in when you buy (the driver might have some smaller collisions that did not pass by the battery without consequences that are not immediately detectable) you really take a chance here. If the battery is really compromised, the vehicle might erupt in flames with no visible external cause while you are in it. EVs have been known to do that. A used EV is a risky proposition.
