South Africa is a prime example of what happens when everything is politicized and you cant run a normal business anymore without bowing to multiple levels of affirmative action. An enormous cancer of so-called advisory bodies and companies that cater to anything under the sun requires constant feeding. I remember a preliminary project meeting where the outlines of a project idea were to be discussed. Usually an affair of a few people. More than 40 were in the room and everyone had already loads of amends to make on a project that did not even exist on paper yet. The next step never came – no surprise.
