Wind will be Competitive! (Secretary Chu from 2011)

How many years have we heard this? More than a decade now it appears and we are nowhere near any real competitiveness. If that was so we could confidently abolish all those copious subsidies thrown at solar and wind. And we could also cancel all the non-direct subsidies súch as preferred grid access and free balancing services. And there should be no shouts and threats from the climate alarmist corner because the most competitive energy will always win anyhow. So what’s all the commotion then? Why can’t we pull the money plug?

Yes, what began in 1992 for wind’s PTC was extended in 1999… 2002 … 2004 … 2005 … 2006 … 2008 … 2009 … 2012 … 2014 … 2015 … 2016 … 2019 … 2021.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
