Wintershall Dea, Sonatrach partner to develop Algerian natural gas, energy transition projects

Algeria has an energy problem similar to Egypt. It astonishing that a big oil and gas exporter could go down this road but decades of mismanagement, corruption, and underinvestment into upstream as well as a rapidly growing and young population that demands more energy has produced a looming deficit. Algeria can still serve its export obligations but if it does not start to seriously drill holes in the right places, there will be a shortfall. Exports will be the first to suffer as politicians don’t want to risk uprisings but this brings down income. Income Algeria needs urgently.
