World’s largest companies stall climate action despite promises

That is not surprising. For the longest time climate action was even profitable because there were copious subsidies to be had. Now those subsidies have started to dry up and the economic bottom line of the companies started to suffer. This means drops in profits, drops in share prices, and hence drops in bonuses for their performances. That cannot happen. Managers are happy to drive their company into a wall of concrete as long they can be sure they cash in on their bonuses and also can deflect blame. Both have gotten hard.
