Why manned spaceflight is ultimately doomed

Humans are frail, squishy things. Expose any of us to open space for a second and see what happens. The explorers in Antarctica had air to breathe, gravity to play with, protection from radiation, and much more. Antarctica is a cozy place compared to anywhere in outer space. And the distances are mind-bogglingly large. Our explorers will be robots.
